About UP Integrated School
The University of the Philippines Integrated School (est. 1976) is the laboratory school of the UP College of Education. It offers an integrated curriculum from kindergarten to Grade 12. It is one of the country's pioneer integrated schools and has been offering an integrated curriculum from kindergarten to Grade 10 since its inception. In 2012, following the mandatory implementation of the Department of Education's K-12 program, Grades 11 and 12 were added.
UPIS has three main functions:
As a laboratory school, it serves as the practicum site for student teachers of the Colleges of Education, Home Economics, Human Kinetics, and Music.
As a service school, UPIS caters to the educational needs of the children of UP personnel.
As a feeder school for the University, UPIS was designed to be a "University Academy." Most, if not all of UPIS graduates opt to enter the University provided they pass the UPCAT.

About the Legacy Project
The batch’s Legacy Project includes scholarship support and career mentoring for today’s UPIS students. On top of that, the batch is working with Ayala Corporation to design and build a commemorative marker at the UP Town Center, previously the site of UPIS K-2 and 7-10 buildings.
The Legacy Project is headed by Krupskaya Añonuevo, under the Program Committee headed by Therese Lladoc Natividad.
About the Scholarship Support Program
As part of the Legacy Project, the scholarship support aims to provide financial assistance to a minimum of three UPIS students in need, recommended by the UPIS Scholarship Committee. The financial aid will go towards the scholar’s student fee, instructional materials, PTA donation, food and internet allowance, and will cover expenses from Grade 7 until they graduate, for a total of six years.
This means a pledge of at least PHP 540,000.00 from our batch, from SY 2022-2023 to SY 2027-2028.
About the Tagline
“Alab” is a beautiful Filipino word that means passion or ardor, blaze or flame. It is a poetic term that resonates deep in the heart of Filipinos, with echoes from the lyrics of Lupang Hinirang, “alab ng puso / sa dibdib mo’y buhay.”
“Alab” represents our love for UPIS, for the education we received, the experiences that shaped our character, and the friends we made for life.
Spoken colloquially, “alab” also sounds like “I love.” ALAB UPIS is a play on “I love UPIS” and expresses our fervent desire to give back to UPIS, the faculty and staff, and spark hope in today’s students.
The ALAB UPIS tagline was conceptualized by Misha Pallorina Enriquez and Lianne Mirano Romero.
About the Brand
ALAB UPIS’ colorful pattern and bespoke typography are inspired by the banig, the traditional Philippine woven mat. The banig is quintessentially Filipino and delivers a strong message of cooperation and unity in spite of separate and distinct elements.
The color palette is anchored in UP Maroon and Forest Green punctuated by rich red, blue, teal, and yellow. The different colors represent each of us, our different career paths in different parts of the world, and how everyone is coming together for one unifying purpose: giving back to our alma mater.
The interwoven letters, banig pattern, and colour palette form a strong visual identity representing Batch 97’s interwoven lives through lifelong friendships and shared experiences.
The ALAB UPIS brand was designed by Brian Rodrigo Llagas.
