I ❤️ UPIS! Watch as alumni across different batches sing together with one voice for the UPIS Grand Alumni Homecoming held last December 10, 2022 at the UPIS Gym and online via Zoom. Thanks to all alumni who joined in this special number!
“ALAB UPIS” is an anthem composed by Arabelle “Abi” Casauay (1980-2022) from UPIS Batch ‘97. Abi wrote this song especially for the Homecoming. She had just recorded the demo when she suddenly passed away early this year, gone much too soon. Her brother Bryan, fellow UPIS alumnus, sings in the video in her honor.

The 2022 UPIS Grand Alumni Homecoming is the first ever hybrid homecoming event for the UPIS Alumni Community, featuring a small onsite gathering for celebrating batches and online livestream for the greater alumni community.

This year’s UPIS Grand Alumni Homecoming theme “ALABira!” is derived from the Aklanon term “Hala Bira,” which is often shouted during the Ati-atihan and Dinagyang Festivals, which means “to dispense of all things, in order to share what you have.” It is in this festive, colorful and selfless spirit of sharing and giving back that we wish to celebrate the homecoming this year.
