Anna Mary Javier,
Batchmate and Friend
by Ethel Ravena Langkay
Anna Mary Javier was considered a ray of sunshine by her closest friends. Her laughter echoed in the halls of UPIS while talking about her crushes, cracking corny jokes, and catching up on the latest school gossip. She was a thoughtful, caring, and encouraging friend. Even when faced with severe kidney disease, she still managed to uplift the spirits of people dear to her. Her life may have been short, but the memories she left behind will always be in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
No more pain and tears. Rest well, Anna.
I am so sorry I was not able to visit you because I was also sick myself. I am sure you are happy and at peace with your Dad, Mom and Ate Mimmy. Love you.
- SIR GILBERT YANGCO
We will miss you, Anna. Mahal ka namin sobra.
- RON NOVENCIDO
To my first friend in UPIS, maraming salamat sa pagmamahal at pagkalinga mo at ng buong pamilya mo sa akin during our highschool years.
- MALAYA SANTOS
Rest in peace, Anna Mary Javier. Your life has given hope to those who have none. May God's perpetual light shine upon you and give you peace.
- ANTHONY DACAYO
Sa kabila ng kanyang pinagdaanan, she generously offered a shoulder to lean on. Salamat, Anna. Borahae!

I need not be an archivist to know your value as a friend. I have kept the letters, photographs, and all things to remind me of you.
“I imagine things that might happen in the future. What I mean is that things like graduation, where I could see some of us, including me, crying because we have to part. I could see that parting is not so easy. I can’t take it. Leaving all the batchmates, especially those who became a part of my life, things that I remember in Kinder to highschool, all the memorable places, notes (dedications). I don’t know if I could still live after grad. Eventhough there are still 9 months to go, I could feel the pains already. As a matter of fact, I’m almost about to cry while writing this. Hope to see you in the future eventhough we have different choices in the campus. Please be in touch. Oh, I’ll be missing all of you, especially those who became very close to my heart like you.”
Indeed, you cherished much of your friends.
I know the Lord will prepare a table for you. He listened to the “Sound of Music” in your heart when you uttered that last prayer. Salamat sa iyong mga ngiti. Surely, you are that friend God gave to us who loves at all times. I will surely miss your tight hugs.
- MICHELLE DELORIA
If you wish to contribute to to Anna Mary's outstanding hospital bills, UPIS Batch '97 has set up a Go Fund Me that we will turn over to her sister, Claire. Any amount will help as we lay our friend to rest.
